Spring at The Lattice Inn

We’ve finally come out of our winter doldrums here at The Lattice Inn, with things blooming everywhere! Flower boxes have been planted with colorful Petunias and trailing Vincas. Surprisingly, some of our other annuals have come back (Begonias and even Impatiens)! The front of the place was ablaze with color from our giant traditional Azalea as well as the struggling Encore Azaleas.  Alas, the traditional Azalea has started to fade, thanks to the storm that blew through here in early April.

Catching up on our guests: Since our last visit with you here via The Lattice INNsider, we’ve had guests from all over the country – Oregon, Georgia, North Carolina, Virgina, Florida, Wisconsin, and Kansas.  WOW!  And as spring and summer activities pick up here in the River Region, we’re poised to host many other guests from far and wide!

Guest reviews and comments: If you keep up with us via the reviews posted on Tripadvisor.com (thanks, folks!), you’ve seen some very complimentary comments from time to time.  While nice words make us feel all warm and fuzzy, nothing matches the humbling experience of a former guest taking the time to create a work of art and personally deliver it to us.  Such was the case a few days ago when a guest from Newnan, GA and his family rang our doorbell and presented us with a sketch (see above) he had done of our wonderful swing and rocking chairs on our front porch.  Thanks, Bryant and Kendra!

Capri Theatre Update: April signals the conclusion of our second year of a wonderful relationship with the Capri Theatre and the Southern Circuit of Independent Filmmakers.  Many of the guest filmmakers we’ve lodged here over the past years have donated copies of their films to our DVD library.  So, if you missed any of the eclectic productions that were screened at The Capri, check into one of our suites, pop some popcorn, kick back, relax and enjoy the show!

AppleTV @ The Lattice Inn: Speaking of shows, each of our suites now feature AppleTV!  So, you can stream movies and TV shows from your personal Netflix and iTunes accounts as well as many other sources.  Just another way we like to make our guests feel special here at The Lattice Inn.

ASF Patrons and other discounts: Remember, we offer special discounts to patrons of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival (10% with a two-night minimum), as well as our regular 5% to Senior and Military (active or retired).  And for all who celebrate their birthday with us, stay during your birthday month and take 15% off (with a two-night minimum).  Plan ahead for February 2012 and take 1% off your rate for every year you and your significant other have been in your relationship.  Maximum 50% discount and two-night minimum required.

Swimming Season Opens Soon: The pool will be opening later this month after the Montgomery County Health Department gives its seal of approval.  The hot tub continues to coast along at a toasty 100 degrees.  All await the enjoyment of our wonderful guests here at The Lattice Inn.  This summer, we offer non-guests the opportunity to take a dip in our refreshing salt water pool.  For just $5 for two hours, come and splash in the pool or lounge in the hot tub.  Bring your own towels!  No restroom facilities are available for this offer.  BYOB ok, but no glass containers.

Koi Pond Update: And our Koi pond is getting rather crowded since we saw the birth of nearly a dozen new fishies over the past year.  Thankfully, we have neighbors nearby to adopt the babies but there will still be plenty of colorful creatures to watch as they cruise around our recently re-organized Koi pond.

Stay in touch:  Keep up with what’s going on here at The Lattice Inn via our Facebook page as well as this blog.  Come see us soon at The Lattice Inn!

How often do you have to shave your head to keep that “cool” look???

    Hi Jim.
Thanks for sharing. You done a great job – a nice place to just relax. I will keep this charming place in mind – maybe I will see you soon.

Jim you still have that place looking great! What a wonderful hidden oasis you have in historic Cloverdale and so close to downtown. Your place is great and I would always recommend your guests to take a short drive around Cloverdale to see all of the old, “true southern” homes that are in the area. When I was there I never felt like I was so close to so many things in Montgomery. The privacy is spectacular, I doubt there are many places in Montgomery that could make me feel like I was staying in the middle of a southern plantation! Living in southwest Colorado is great but will never give me the feel that the Lattice Inn gave me. I hope you have many more guests that were as lucky as me to find your place. Keep up the great work!
